Sheringham Junior Chess Tournament

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am excited to announce that Sheringham Community Primary School will be hosting the
Sheringham Junior Chess Tournament on Saturday 27th May, from 12:45pm until 5pm. I
have had the pleasure of teaching many of our pupils to play chess over the years and hope
that lots of them will be keen to play in this competition. Every child that enters will win a
small prize, get a certificate and an English Chess Federation rating . I am also going to
guarantee there will be special prizes for the best performing Sheringham players in all the
junior sections.

The school PTA will be running a cafe during the event. All proceeds from this will be added
to their funds to help our pupils and the school. If you are able and would like to help with
this please see Mrs Hooker or myself.

To find out more about this tournament and to enter please see the attached poster or visit
the Norfolk Junior Chess Website https://sites.google.com/view/norfolkjuniorchess/ If you
have any questions please come and have a chat with me. I hope to make this annual
event if it proves to be a success.

Best regards,
Mr Matthew Perry
