Daniel Ralph & Joshua

Daniel (Year 4) followed a YouTube tutorial on painting trees in blossom and produced this amazing piece of artwork.

Ralph (Year 1) is really proud of himself for reading this book all by himself.

Joshua (Year 6) has drawn this amazing elephant from scratch.

Evie’s PE Session

Evie from 4B looks forward to her PE session with Joe Wicks each morning with her family. She has completed her challenge in making a kite and aims to do 2-3 hours ‘school’ learning each day.

Maisie & Arlo have been busy this week

Maisie 3W and Arlo from Nursery have been busy this week, they have created rainbow pictures to send to family and made Easter cards and Hama bead art. They also tried to make kites however the first attempt wouldn’t fly but the second one did with a little help from a good gust of wind! They also made Easter nests with chocolate and cornflakes/ Rice Krispies but didn’t have any mini eggs to finish it.

Home learning – Science

Monday we completed the PE with Joe Wicks and learnt about different types of germs in science. They both made a poster of what they thought a germ would look like and after a PowerPoint they could tell me the different types of germs e.g. Bacteria is found in ears and throats, fungi can be found on athlete foot, virus is the corona virus and protozoa can give is sickness and diarrhea.  We decided Dexter’s germ looked like a protozoa.

We then did a science experiment were we wanted to learn why we use soap to wash our hands. We coated our hands with oil and brown sugar (the sugar symbolised as germs) after putting our hands in JUST water we were left with germs still on our hands but after rubbing soap into our hands and singing happy birthday twice all the germs completely disappeared.

They each got a certificate to congratulate them on their hand washing skills. Dexter also completed his maths whizz and helped cook shepherds pie for tea.

Isla 4B Poem

Isla from 4B has written the this wonderful poem about the weather

‘March 25th and  the world stood still,
We step outside into the morning spring chill,
The earth has stopped to breathe,
We can now hear the swaying of the swishy swashy leaves.

The crisp blue sky is like an ocean ,
It warms our hearts so full of emotion.
As we stay inside the sun beams through the glass,
I wish I was playing with my friends from my school class.

There are a few hazy clouds up in the sky,
Looking quite lazy as they pass us by.
The birds are chattering to each other ,
I see a baby bird being fed by its mother.

The beautiful colour of the pinky white blossom on the trees,
Attracts lots of yellow and black humming bees.
Daffodils and bluebells are coming into bloom ,
I really hope that the corona virus will be gone soon.

The streets are motionless from here to there,
No one can be seen anywhere.
I hope by the summer we can swim in the sea ,
With the cold aqua crystal clear water lapping around me.
